Do u prefer me to buy a stand alone DVR, or a PC Based one.? - pc based dvr
While the PC-based DVR is good, they are not perfect. I had several DVDs during combustion is not a program from your computer to a DVD.
Then there is the question --- What happens if my computer crashes or repaired or memory exhaustion? With a team based DVR is also the disadvantage that the more you save ... the slower your computer will get the memory used. And what you really want on your computer during a thunderstorm? I would rather replace $ 200 device connects to a computer is $ 1000 should be a force of lightning!
The individual components are always the safest way, whether stereo equipment home entertainment center, etc. Always use a power strip with surge protection for all your entertainment technologies.
Hope this helps!

I like some of the independent PC-based DVR. They are easier to operate for the whole family. There is more support for their own digital video recorder to a PC-based one. And a stand-alone DVR can be cheaper than a PC-based DVR.
If you are in the U.S., I recommend a TiVo, because it has more features, is easier to use, and the DVR is the most reliable in my experience of TiVo digital video recorders, and cable.
It depends on your usage ... If you use to watch movies ... You can use DVR, much more enjoyable .. but if you have a PC, you can play DVDs, especially the games are now available on DVD ... and if you have a TV with a slot for your graphics card, you can connect your PC to a normal screen with the film conveniently
Neither ... I prefer a buy
